BIOGRAPHY
Nicole Lynette Scott Lee
Nicole Lynette Scott Lee, was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, niece, cousin and friend. She departed this earthly realm suddenly on Sunday, June 17, 2007. Nicole was born on October 16, 1971 to the marital union of Robert Lewis and Portia Adele Scott. Her formative years and secondary education was developed in Port Chester, NY and Silver Spring, MD. She graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1989 and earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Communications and Business Administration from St. John’s University in Jamaica, NY in 1993. Upon completion of her studies, Nicole started her career with jobs in media, marketing and advertising at WABC and NYNEX in New York City. Subsequently, she joined Black Enterprise Magazine, where she was employed as a sales assistant and successful account executive, respectively.
Nicole was also an active member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. through the Westchester County and Bronx, New York alumnae chapters.
Nicole and Alfonzo James Lee were united in marriage and produced two beautiful daughters, Ayanna Janelle and Sierra Nicole. The Lee Family resides in Brooklyn, New York, where they are surrounded by a neighborhood filled with loving and attentive family and friends.
Although Nicole was an only child, she was loved and connected to a plethora of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. While they all loved Nicole, God loved her best and called her to eternal rest at the tender age of 35. Her untimely departure has left a gigantic hole in the heart of her mother, Portia, a tremendous abyss in the life of her husband and children, as well as a significant void in the minds of everyone whose life she has touched.
Nevertheless, when you gaze up into the sky at night and observe the stars shining bright, if you notice one blink or twinkle at you don’t be concerned or perplexed in view. It is just a signal sent through the night; Nicole wants you to know she is alright.
A MOTHER’S LAMENT

The bond between my child and me is a gift you can’t compare
It’s an unexplainable connection only a mother and daughter can share
From the first moment she arrived on earth that foggy October day
A special joy and fulfillment just took my breath away,
My baby, my daughter, my friend, I love you as no other
You made my life complete just to live it as your mother
But where did all the time go – the years just seemed to fly
You grew up so quickly with beauty, charm and grace right before my eyes
I gave your hand in marriage to a very wonderful man
Now you have daughters of your own, all part of God’s divine plan
I never knew the time would come when I would mourn and cry
The tears of a broken-hearted mother whose daughter had to die
Though your children won’t have your hand to guide them until they are grown
Don’t you fret or worry my darling;
I will nurture and protect them as if they were my own
So take your rest in death my child, relax on Jesus’ breast
Soon one day I’ll meet you there after these worldly tests
Until that grand reunion I will miss you, my daughter and my friend
But my eternal love for you will never know an end
