ABOUT US
The Scott Lee Foundation, Inc. (SLF) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax exempt public charity, incorporated in the State of Maryland and headquartered in Laurel . SLF was created to memorialize the life of Nicole Lynette Scott Lee, who was a 35-year old resident of Brooklyn , New York and account executive at Black Enterprise Magazine at the time of her death in 2007. Although our genesis was the result of a personal tragedy, we believe the best way to bring honor to Nicole’s life is through service to others. The combined programs of the Foundation are designed to address several needs within our multi-cultural community. To that end, we aspire to work with churches, business leaders, educators, government agencies, entrepreneurs, sororities and fraternities, as well as with other non-profit and professional organizations to achieve our collective goal of making a difference in the communities we serve. |
MISSION STATEMENT
The Scott Lee Foundation’s mission is to support, empower, and develop those within our sphere of influence who aspire to become self-sufficient, self-assured, and re-energized contributors to their families and the community at large. We intend to focus on issues of specific interest to men and/or women, the bereaved, young adults, and youth who require tutoring in fundamental education. Our primary thrust will offer tuition assistance to college students, preparation for entry or re-entry into the workforce, and specialized family counseling. Overall, we intend to disseminate hope and substance into the lives of today’s dreamers as they transform into tomorrow’s future leaders.
