The Scott Lee Foundation, Inc. was founded by Portia A. Scott as a tribute to the memory of her daughter, Nicole Lynette Scott Lee, who departed this life suddenly on June 17, 2007. Nicole was a wonderful daughter, a loving wife to her husband Alfonzo J. Lee and a devoted mother to their two beautiful daughters.
Nicole believed in giving back to the community and served it proudly through her membership in the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Similarly, the Scott Lee Foundation is created to make a difference in the lives of people through its community service. The mission of the Foundation is to provide counseling, social services and educational resources to eligible and disadvantaged members of our communities. As a non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax exempt public charity, the Foundation intends to focus on the needs of youth, young adults, women, the bereaved and others who require tutoring in fundamental education, financial assistance with college tuition, employment preparation for entry or re-entry into the work force, and/or specialized family counseling.
The Scott Lee Foundation is dedicated to building better and stronger families, serving as role models for our youth, promoting education and career development for the unemployed and under-employed, and forming alliances with churches, sororities, fraternities and other non-profit organizations who share our goals.
